I Love Lovecraftian Horror

I don't mean just, "Cthulhu mythos". In this case I am defining Lovecraftian Horror as a very specific type of horror:

Lovecraftian horror: horror, but the thing portrayed is something that would scare the pants off Lovecraft himself- while the thing portrayed would be seen as vaguely endearing to anyone who is fond of octopi. Horror where elements are described as absolutely repulsive and vomitous, when they are actually quite bland to a lot of people when conceptualized properly.

A simple example:

The creature peered at him through beady eyes. It had no brain- the whole of it was its brain, covered in a thin web of skin that pulsed with the movement of muscle directed by the neurons threaded throughout. Its gelatinous body twitched and oozed, the boneless flopping strands of it pulling it closer with curling sucking grasps of whatever was nearby, making its way toward her feet with a single minded purpose to grab and clutch. She stayed still, mindful of the power in those twisting, slithering appendages, each like its own snake as it cutled around her limbs. If she stayed perfectly as she was- stayed boring, stayed calm, it might spare her the venom she knew it possessed. If she did not, it could easily wrap her in its snake-slither brain-matter, sucking her under with strength she did not possess.

Yeah, anyway, I just described this video:
